Denis and Carmel In Galicia

Based in Askeaton, Co. Limerick, Ceol Tracks is the brainchild of committed traditional musicians and music teachers Denis O’Toole and his wife, Carmel. They recognised the world wide appeal of Irish Traditional Music for so many people, and how few of them actually get the opportunity for proper tuition from tutor and tune books. In response to this, Denis produced easy to read and easy to learn books featuring over 60 popular traditional session tunes, with finger charts, Alpha notes, traditional score and chord progressions, and the accompanying CD feature steady speeds and tempos while students learn.

In such a short time since the Books have become available, Denis has been amazed by the positive response received, “I am somewhat overwhelmed by the wave of positive feedback from established and aspiring musicians alike. I’m also excited that Comhaltas has endorsed the books 1 and 2. Age or languages is not a barrier, interest in Irish Traditional Music and access to an instrument is all people need to succeed. We have reports of young children learning to play tunes on the tin whistle, and a man in his 70’s reigniting his childhood talent for Uilleann pipe playing. We are so delighted that we have found this unique way of bringing our love of teaching Irish Traditional Music to anyone, anywhere in the world.”
